  1. First of, I just kinda chose APP CS5.5 because that's what most sites suggest after a quick googling. I have zero previous experience in editing and filming so please be kind :/.

Anyway, I just came back from a trip and I filmed all my footage with a GoPro, and I would love to have it all in a montage kind of like this. http://vimeo.com/38411506

So far, everything is ******* hard.

My first problem: This(https://forum.videohelp.com/images/imgfiles/HEHIt.jpg) is a screenshot of what the raw footage is like in full screen. But then when I import it in to CS5.5 it looks like this(https://forum.videohelp.com/images/imgfiles/lqCJ8.png).

Why is it that the program decided to only show part of the footage and not all of it? I can drag that 'little white circle with a cross' around to show different part of the video but I want to show everything.

I hope you understand my problem...

    Thanks in advance.

Please don't use a thread title like that. I changed it for you. You can adjust it by clicking on the edit button and go advanced.

No, I have no idea why it looks like that.

  3. Hi,
first of all check your sequence settings. Be sure they are the same as your shoted film (in terms of frame size and frame speed).
Then you can always adjust your clip inside your timeline by right-clicking your clip and select/deselect "Adjust frame size" or something similar....
After that you can edit your general preferences and check/uncheck the automatic rescale of clips inside timeline..
    Sorry for bad english

Show us your Sequence (project) settings. It appears you are set default for 720x480i at 29.97 with 4:3 aspect ratio.

It should be set to match your camera shooting format probably 16:9 (square pixel) 1920x1080 30p.

Make sure the detected clip properties (right click on clip) match your shooting format. Export encode settings should also be 16:9 1920x1080 30p.

If you're just starting out, is it too late to take a look at Sony Vegas? Or you already plunked down your cash?

The reason I mention it, is that Vegas will probably serve you better in the long run.
