  1. I added this to a previous post but I'm starting a new thread.

I want to clip bad sections of some home videos (DV-AVI) before saving them for archival purposes. I downloaded SolveigMM AVI Trimmer and when I select the movie to edit and play, I hear the audio but no video window displays. The only item listed under Streams/Codecs is Video (DVSD) and it is checked. I tried marking the beginning/end of a clip and saving it. When I play the resulting avi file, there is video but no audio. I don't see anything in the help file. Any ideas? It looks like it's pretty easy to use if I could get it to work!

If it makes any difference, the videos were originally recorded with a Sony 8 mm digital orded in the early 2000's.

Send an e-mail to Solveig, and they'll fix it, or tell you why that's happening. They're VERY interested in bug shooting, and will respond right away.

  3. Thanks but I downloaded Virtual Dub and it's working great so far. I'll start my Vegas trial when I get ready to actually start editing.
