I borrowed a mates Samsung camcorder so I could capture some of my old footage.
My camcorder needs repair.
So anyway, it seems to sync up ok, but does not come through.
And even when I play the tape on the camcorder itself, only a blue screen appears.
Any thoughts?

I am using cyberlink PD.
I did DL the driver for the model, but not sure it installed correctly.
But even if it did not, why wouldn't the tape play on the camcorder itself? -
What camcorder model? What format are the tapes? What model camcorder were they shot on?

Were you shooting standard def 720x576 MiniDV format on the HDR-HC9 or HDV?
The Samsung can only play a standard def tape. There shouldn't be a special driver requirement for MiniDV captured Firewire.[/QUOTE]
1080 so thats the prob.
Is it only older Samsungs?
I was thinking about buying a 2nd hand cheap cc off ebay, but this would be a common problem with older cc's? -
