  1. My platform is powerbook g4, power pc, running Leopard. I need one simple application that will let me cut a 30 minute video into small enough pieces to load into imovie. I've tried Avidemux. I can't get that to do what I want. If I could imagine the perfect application it would be called "Chop Block" and all it would do is let you chop a video up into small manageable pieces to be edited in your favorite video editor. Anyone know of such a wizbang application?

  4. Its a 31 minute mp4. I've been using iMovie for a couple of years now to edit videos. Invariably it will tell me... "Error During Import. The file could not be imported: The movie “Hard Drive/Users/a particular video.mp4” cannot be imported. It is more than 9-1/2 minutes long, which would be more than 2 GB once converted to DV. iMovie clips must be less than 2 GB in size. You can use QuickTime Pro to break the movie into smaller pieces, and then import the movie in segments."

I don't want to buy quicktime pro. What I've been doing is chopping videos into manageable clips using Nero Vision on my mom's pc. Just too many extra steps. I've been looking with no success for a simple free video editor to use just for chopping things down for editing in imovie.

  5. And, of course, I have an older mac with a power pc processor with Leopard. I am as upgraded software wise as I can be and on the cusp of not being able to use much of the internet. So, whatever program I find will be older or probably incompatible.
