Been using DVD Flick for some time with no problems. Recently, when I click the Burn DVD button, the entire window just disappears. I'm new to this game so I am thoroughly cionfused.

  2. Maybe time to switch to avstodvd with imgburn.

Or just burn the video_Ts folder manually with imgburn.

  3. You could try completely uninstalling DVDflick, then replacing it with a fresh copy. If you have v3.0.6 installed, try replacing it with v3.0.7 (the other way around also helps sometimes- both versions are very similar). You could try AVStoDVD instead, as someone else recommended, but AVStoDVD is rather more fussy and complicated to use and it relies on IMGburn the same as DVDflick (whatever your PC does to cause DVDflick to "disappear" and fail to auto-run IMGburn could cause the same problem with AVStoDVD).

DVDflick is a nifty DVD converter, but it hasn't been updated in a LONG time, and it does tend to get corrupted or goofy after a certain number of Windows updates. Most likely the disappearing burn function started after a recent automatic Windows update: some minor background OS update broke your DVDflick.

As these conflicts go, you're reasonably fortunate: the "burn" function of DVDflick is totally disposable- just forget about it. Most of us who still use DVDflick uncheck the "burn DVD when finished" option, which causes DVDflick to save its VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders on your computer HDD. All you need to do is download the latest version of IMGburn, and manually open IMGburn to burn a DVD after DVDflick finishes creating the files.

By default, DVDflick saves a "dvd" folder to your "My Documents" folder. After opening IMGburn, select the EZ Mode Picker and then click the Burn File/Folders to Disc button. The display will switch to a file selection screen: click on the little folder icon (second down from the top). you can then navigate to

    My Documents>dvd>dvd>VIDEO_TS

and add it to the burn list. You should probably hit the folder icon again, and navigate to

    My Documents>dvd>dvd>AUDIO_TS

and select that as well. Your burn list should show as

    VIDEO_TS
    AUDIO_TS

You can then click the start burn button, and IMGburn will burn the DVD for you.

This sounds more complicated than it really is: it takes just a couple seconds to tell IMGburn what to do. After you finish making as many copies of the DVD you need, you can delete the "dvd" folder from your My Documents. Or, just leave it and DVDflick will overwrite it with the files for the next DVD you create. If you want to save multiple DVDflick dvd files, go to

    MY Documents>dvd>dvd

and rename the last "dvd" folder (the one that contains the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders). Name it "DVD 1" or "Music Videos" or other title reflecting whatever the DVD contains (so you can find it easily when running IMGburn). Move the renamed folder to another folder in My Documents, such as "Videos". Delete the leftover "dvd" folder with all the other junk files DVDflick saved in it. Next time you run DVDflick, it will create a fresh "dvd" folder for the new project.
