I have:
ACER laptop AMD turion x2 with ATI Radeon 4570 HD
Windows 7 64bit.
Memory : 4GB
I've installed Mpc-hc 1.6.0.4014 (32bit version)
CCC Pack 2011-11-11
At the begining memory is ~ 1,2GB
I start to see the mkv video and the pc starts to freeze, stack and all that things.
I 've noticed that memory goes to ~3,6GB. Even if i close the player memory still stacked there. Only if i reboot or log out and then log in memory goes to normal.
I have uninstall and install again and again mpc, cccp (clear the registry with ccleaner),nothing
I am using cccp and mpc for years and i am addicted to them
Please help me.
Thanks in advanced

Please post a MediaInfo report about "THE" mkv file.
Perhaps the problem is in that file, and not in MPC-HC, nor in the "communist" codec pack
There is no such thing as a "good addiction"
For .MKVs especifically, for now I prefer AV Splitter, and Haali's has become a big no-no to me. -
Is not only with one mkv but with 3-4 videos i 've tested.
Every rule has an exception
Could you explain to me? I download it, install it and then what? How i will use it with mpc?
Download 32 or 64bit version? -
No Jagabo. That's the weird. At the task manager, Processes tab, if you sum the memories of the all applications you will missed ~2GB!!
MPCHC is not in the list -
I'd suggest a good 12 step program and yank mpchc and all those damn codecs. I won't use it anymore.
SMplayer or vlc will play mkv's just fine. Without codecs. I don't really use vlc for file playing much anymore.
With an mkv it's usually .264 encoding and that's more demanding on system resources to play than other formats. I findh.264 video plays a lot better if you have a decent sized cache for local files/streams. VLC 2.0 may not have that capability anymore, from what I've seen, and that would be a big demerit.
mpchc may have a setting for increasing file cache size but, like I said, I wouldn't know anymore. Its settings are silly anyway. -
More options:
--- try an older build of MPC-HC, and do NOT use the internal filters ;
--- with or without an up-to-date MPC-HC, NEVER "install" it, just keep all its settings in a .INI file ;
Maybe these suggestions will not solve your current problem, BUT
at least they will eliminate other annoyances
