Windows Tablet has a firewall of its own. There are several Internet Security suites you can download demos of that support Windows Tablet.

There is no Windows 8 at this moment. Just some OS for tablets that could become Windows 8 IF Microsoft finally stops ignoring the beta testers just like they did with Vista. I know Microsoft is CAPABLE of learning. It just hasn't.

  3. Windows 8 consumer preview is available for download. Yeah my zone alarm stopped working after install.
Im looking for a separate firewall as well. Ran ZA in compat mode and as admin but it will not update.

yes windows 8 consumer preview has more efficient firewall than windows 7 use that, it is preview still so expect some of the programs and hardware to not work properly ( i had some problems my self with the accounting program that i use so i got back to 7 again).
You could try avira 2012is ( i have that and it worked fine in windows 8 )

  6. Thank you Mammo1789. Avira looks good but it costs $ so ill stick a pin in that for later.

Just tried "windows 7 firewall control plus" it installed right away without running compatibility mode. it was showing that windows 8 was constantly having unchecked random' communications. I know its a beta OS but Wow. However it costs $29.99 after trial so Im trying "PC tools firewall plus" which is free, it doesn't have the detailed control of "Firewall control plus" but it seems to be working and its blocking alot of this random' outgoing traffic..

Hey what can I say, I cherish my "false sense of security". I just wasn't getting that with windows 8 firewall... seemed like telling the dog to walk the other dog.

Avira has a free edition that most people use, just Google Avira free download. Most of the major software sites have links to the free edition (Major Geeks, File Hippo, etc.)
