  1. I want to convert two video_ts folders to mkv then merge them
but sometimes the pixel and display width will be slightly off (1 or 2 pixels) and wont merge
is there a way to get Handbrake to output a specific pixel / display width?

*FYI the two video_ts folder are the same movie split using dvdshrink

weirdest way to do the job i've ever heard of. don't split it then join it. get vidcoder(handbrake gui) install and run it. select your dvd(if protected run anydvd in the background) or copy the entire video_ts folder to the hard drive then use vidcoder to create a single mkv or mp4.

  3. haha, it seems weird but I split these movies a long time ago (before DL).
Rather than compressing (sometimes up to 50%) I split and burned them to 2 DVD 5's
I'm now moving my DVD collection to a hard drive

again i would try vidcoder, in the picture tab you can easily crop to the size you need to match the other. i would probably do both just to make sure all encoder settings are the same so you can join it and it will play all the way through.

  5. I used Handbrake (which is what vidcoder uses i believe) and the settings under the picture tab were the same for both vids.
it's weird that they would turn out different. maybe its due to rounding or something when it calculates the aspect ratio?
i dont know but it's happened on several movies.
or maybe dvdshrink did it when i originaly split it?
How do i get video info on video_ts video?
like mkvinfo does for mkv files (pixel width and display width etc)?

Use MediaInfo on one of the VOBs in the VIDEO_TS folder.
