  1. For removing commercials from my captured video, I used Virtualdub as the editing tool. I extracted the sections without the commecials to new files and then join them back together. I was wondering if there is a tool that can remove the commercials from the single captured file without needing to cut and join. Cutting and joining requires a lot of diskspace as you need to preserve the source and create new files for each section.

    Thanks.

  2. I'll beat the Ulead Video Studio 6 drum yet again!

I use UVS6 to edit commercials out of programs I capture from the TV. I open the capture file in UVS6, and "cut" the file at the begining and end of each commercial, then simply delete the commercial. I do the same for all of the commercials and station breaks, then save the file, or use the built menu creation and VCD/SVCD/DVD burn wizard to burn a CD/DVD right away.

There is a fully-functional 30-day trial of this $99 program at:

Give it a try for a couple of weeks, it won't cost you anything.
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."
