    Hi all,

I'm going to re-install XP\3 and want to save the address book in OUTLOOK to save having to manually input my contacts. I would really appreciate advise from a member who can tell me what file in M$ office contains the address book.
    Cheers from downunder.

  2. You can find the Outlook.pst file at C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\.
Copy Outlook.pst to flash drive, disc, etc and drop it in the same folder on the new install.

If you are TRULY using Outlook, and not Outlook Express, it should be within your *.PST (or *.OST) mailstore database file. If you were using OE, it would be in a *.WAB file.

It's possible your mailstore no longer resides at the default (mentioned by MOVIEGEEK). I know those at our agency aren't. Do a search (looking in HIDDEN FOLDERS!!) and save ALL the PST/OST files. Even easier, going into your outlook and doing [FILE | Document File Management] will show you WHERE those files are (for your login).

Do ALSO look in "%userprofile%\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook" for *.NK2 files, as they also hold SOME addresses.

You should be able to export your address book in outlook itself, much easier than saving the folder, then import the saved address book.
