  1. I have a 3 hour asf file and when I play it in Windows media player it
doesn't allow me to seek/skip to different parts of the video. Is there
    anyway I can solve this?
    I've had a look at vcdhelp.com
Do I have to convert it to mpeg format? If so can I cut the parts I don't
    need before I convert it?
How do I go about cutting an asf file, as virtualDub doesn't do it

    Cheers

  2. i'd do the editing in premiere and then frameserve to tempgenc
check the convert section to see how the framserving is done

    Try another asf player.
I use ASf recorder to play asf and it is seekable while WMPlayer can't handle.

If still can't seek, then find asf tools.
It can repair and make it seekable.
