Nero Recode 2 does an excellent job of converting decrypted DVDs to its Nero Digital format.
However, it does not seem to preserve the precise chapter marks, usually moving them several seconds earlier than the original on several different computers I use.
Anyone else experience this? Has anyone found a solution?

I don't use it, but it sounds like another case of drop frame .vs non-drop frame timing done because the creator was a European not all that familiar with how NTSC works. If the chapters come about 7 seconds early by the end of a 2-hour movie, that's the reason (30fps timing .vs 29.97fps timing).
What to do? Don't use Nero Recode? Multiply each chapter point by 2997/3000 and redo the project? Use the chapter points from the DVD as given by PGCEdit or PGCDemux? Demux and add in the correct chapter points in whatever format Nero Recode uses before remuxing? Like I said, I don't use Nero Recode so can't give anything definitive. -
Sounds about right, manono. Thanks for the analysis and suggestions for correcting the problem!

No, jman98, you don't really want to know. "Seriously," you just want to pontificate and belittle, as usual, adding absolutely nothing of value in your response.
How on earth could you possibly know how many folks on this board use Nero Digital? (That's a rhetorical question, BTW.) Even if there are few who use it (certainly not a "given), maybe it's because they've never tried it. Who knows? Who cares?
Regardless of your disdain, I like it, I use it, I have DVD players that will play it (even with the selectable chapter points slightly askew), and I sure as h*ll don't need to justify my choice to you or anyone else who thinks they can challenge me to do so, especially in such an arrogant manner.
I wonder, why the Jeckyl and Hyde persona? You can give excellent advice at times, yet so often choose to belittle any and all you deem not to have reached your level of enlightenment and self-importance.Last edited by CobraPilot; 17th Feb 2012 at 15:06. Reason: Typo
