Hp Photosmart 435 Camera won't turn on

I have this camera and have used it with no problems.

Today, when I turned it on, only the red light flashes - screen is black.

HP will replace it for twice what I paid for it, so that is no option.

Is there a way to reset the camera or any other way to make it work?

It's OK now.

After I called HP, the brilliant techs they
never suggested alkaline batteries instead of heavy duty.
I realized later that that might be the problem.

Bought some alkalines and it now works.
