I need to transfer about 1000 cassette recordings to digital format as well as about 1000 video recordings (from vhs, hi-8 and mini disc). I've started the process. I've converted cassettes to cd and the video to dvd. I have the option to put the audio directly from the player to my imac. which will be more efficient. I'm required to back up all of the files. How big of a hard drive will i need? The audio tapes are 90 min. recordings and most of the video are 90 min as well. I want to avoid compressing the audio files so i can edit later. What format should i save them in? PLEASE HELP!!
