My computer was super smooth before. Now it has been laggy for 2 days. Im thinking about if this could be the reason:
I tried to move some movies from my comp to USB device, the file size was about 10g, so i couldnt move it to the USB even though it had 30g free space. I found out it was because FAT32 format wont allow to transfer more than 4gb of files, so i turned it into NTFS. After that my computer has been laggy and been freezing and stuff. Can this be the reason? if it can, how can i turn it back to FAT32?![]()

Paragon partition manager 11 home - free edition ... will manage the task
As for the lag dose it happen while the device is connected / disconnected
Fat32 = max singular file size 4gb
Backup all files before you convert ntfs to fat32. -
if it can, how can i turn it back to FAT32?
It can't. Can only go from FAT to NTFS. -
Hi PurkkaPoika,
You can try a NTFS2FAT32 software to this.

My computer is Acer, and at my "my computer" folder, the acer folder is NTFS? is it supposed to be ntfs, or did i convert it accidently from fat32 to ntfs??

Virus?
You could run ComboFix and check it.
- Disconnect the USB
- Disable System Restore
- Pause your antivirus and run Combofix.

Start Task Manager (Alt + Ctrl + Del). Go to the Processes tab. If there's a button at the bottom that reads "Show process form all users" press it. Look to see if a process is hogging all your CPU time.

I have 2 questions, do you have an antivirus on your computer and have you restarted it? I'm thinking you might have been infected while searching for an answer to why you couldn't copy that 10GB file; you'd have visited some unsavory site.
A good antivirus that does real time scanning would stop drive-by infections most of the time. There are free ones, but they tend to really slow down computers. You can get Microsoft Security Essentials free, if you have WinXP SP3 and above; it seems to be easier on older hardware.
As Jagabo mentions, you could have a process that's hung up (whether malicious or not). If that was caused by what you were doing and you never turn off your PC, this would be a good time to reboot it. If there's a virus, rebooting won't change that. Go here and run the version of Housecall that match your OS. -
Problem solved. Turned out that my windows hasnt updated any softwares for long time, because i dont have internet explorer installed in my comp. I updated every file, and ran virus scan one more time and now my pc runs perfectly!
Thank you all for helping me! Really appreciate it! Bye.
