    How do I know what codec is being used by the bridge? And how can I change it, does anyone have any ideas?

    There is no codec used by the bridge. The codec is IN the bridge. Just returned my Dazzle Hollywood because I found that I could spend the money on a miniDV camera with an analog to digital converter and passthrough built in.
