I'm looking to replace my Denon AVR-3805 receiver I bought 7 or so years ago just after the next model came out. I need something which will switch multiple HD video sources (cable TV DVR, Blu-Ray player, HD media player and HD camcorder) and output reasonably high quality 5.1 audio. I currently have:
    • 1x Definitive Audio ProCenter 100 Mk II
    • 4x Definitive Audio ProMonitor 100 Mk II
    • a nice 12" Velodyne sub
I can see myself springing for better front speakers in the future, but not more than $1000 each. I'm looking to spend in the $500 range. I don't care about 2nd or 3rd zone playing and can't see the value in 7.1 audio. Does anything fit my criteria? Is this the right thread? Is this the right forum?

    Thanks!

i think you can still get dt bipolar speakers. they would match the others sonically fairly well. use them as fronts and move the rest to a 7.1 arrangement. for an amp there are plenty of good 7.1 amps with multiple hdmi inputs. check audio review sites. i like my yamaha rx-v but there are plenty of others. http://usa.yamaha.com/products/audio-visual/av-receivers-amps/rx/?mode=series#tab=product_lineup
