I'm looking to replace my Denon AVR-3805 receiver I bought 7 or so years ago just after the next model came out. I need something which will switch multiple HD video sources (cable TV DVR, Blu-Ray player, HD media player and HD camcorder) and output reasonably high quality 5.1 audio. I currently have:I can see myself springing for better front speakers in the future, but not more than $1000 each. I'm looking to spend in the $500 range. I don't care about 2nd or 3rd zone playing and can't see the value in 7.1 audio. Does anything fit my criteria? Is this the right thread? Is this the right forum?

- 4x Definitive Audio ProMonitor 100 Mk II
- a nice 12" Velodyne sub
Thanks!

i think you can still get dt bipolar speakers. they would match the others sonically fairly well. use them as fronts and move the rest to a 7.1 arrangement. for an amp there are plenty of good 7.1 amps with multiple hdmi inputs. check audio review sites. i like my yamaha rx-v but there are plenty of others. http://usa.yamaha.com/products/audio-visual/av-receivers-amps/rx/?mode=series#tab=product_lineup
