Videos I shot with my old Kodak M575 have very choppy audio when playing under QuickTime 10.1. The audio is also choppy playing with VLC. I did find that the audio plays normally using Mplayer OSX Extended. I thought I would just use mplayer to videos, but the problem also occurs in iMovie with videos shot with the Kodak M575. So I can't use these videos in an iMovie video project.
I tried installing additional codecs that came with "Perian", but that didn't help
So, I used HandBrake to convert the problem .mov files to .m4v. The audio played OK afterwards, but all of the metadata is lost, which I'd like to maintain.
Anyone have any ideas how to fix the audio issue so the .mov audio works under QuickTime and iMovie?
Here's the metadata in on of the problem videos:
Dimentions: 1280 × 720
Codecs: H.264, AAC
Duration: 00:20
Audio Channels: 1
Total bit rate: 9,294
Original Format: Digital camera
Movie Information: EASTMAN KODAK COMPANY KODAK EASYSHARE M575 DIGITAL CAMERA
