Hey All,
For some time now, I've been experimenting with the best way to produce an SVCD from a DV AVI.
I'm pretty happy with using the latest TMPGEnc Version 2.51 and the "SuperVideoCD (PAL) - MPEG2 480x576 CBR 2520kbps.mcf" template from TMPGEnc Plus Ver.2.51 with a few changes to the settings.
Having said that, I often experience what I think is called video tearing in video that contains fast motion. This is the phenomenon that produces black horizontal lines around the edges of images as they move on screen.
Can someone please explain why this occurs and let me know of a setting in TMPGEnc that may rectify the issue? Does it have something to do with the motion search accuracy? Perhaps the interlaced/deinterlaced mode?
Cheers,
Fred![]()

Ok everyone, I "think" I have uncovered the solution to my problem and it can be found here:

The only problem is this would explain everything if I shot in NTSC... but I use PAL, I shouldn't have to do this!!
Ho hum, life is so complicated.
