I have four SAS 146gig 10K Seagate Cheetahs. All four are the same Seagate part number. Two are HP and two are Dell. All have the same seek time, transfer rate, size, speed, etc... The Dell and HP have different firmware numbers. They may actually be the same firmware under different mfg numbers. I was thinking of flashing the two Dells with the HP firmware so that they are all the same. Should I leave well enough alone?

What's wrong with them now? Are they not working in the RAID controller properly ?
My opinion : "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"
It's not like SSD's where firmware revisions can actually make a dramatic difference in performance and/or reliability.
