  1. Hey, I am looking for a trusted, safe and respected site to download high quality movies old and new (1950's to now), that can be downloaded and then are of a quality to be put on DVD so I can watch them on my TV.

There are many sites of course. We ALL know that. Many claim to be free and of course are not. I won't join any of them because it is impossible to know if they are legit or not.

TheMoviesDownloads site claims to have more than 80 million movies, ect. Anyone know if they are legit or not?

If anyone knows of legit sites that are secure, I am willing to pay for the movies as long as I can download them and put them on DVD for my own personal use!!!!

Netflix is NOT what I am looking for. Can't download. Also I an American living in the Philippines so the the site has to be available here. Some are not including Netflix.

Thanks in advance to all that give me helpful information.

    Tom

I haven't seen any legit site that offers downloads that you can put on a dvd. I'm pretty sure you can find very cheap dvd releases in Philippines.

  3. TomK,

This isn't a site that shares movies or even encourages 'sharing of movies'.

The prices of legal DVDs are now cheap in the Philippines.
There are even sales for movies earlier than 2011.. Buy 1 take 1 even.
The only issue is that the region code for the country is REGION 3.
Good DVD players are cheap these days.... PhP 2,,00 and up.....
It's the Blueray players and media that are expensive here.

Perhaps it is time to start buying to build up your movie library.....

Another alternative is the itunes store

  4. Few movies made after Mickey Mouse (1923) will ever be free of copyright (Disney will see to that). Hence there are no legal sites that allow you to download movies and burn them to DVD.

  5. Ok, thanks to all for your replies.

Going to the store and buying a DVD is the same as downloading the movie and burning it to a DVD as long as you have paid for it. Now days when a new game comes out you can't even buy a disc. You just download it (which I don't like for all the reasons that you can imagine). But that is the way it is.

But if the site is not putting the money where it belongs that would be wrong. If I sold DVD's after I got it, that would be wrong.

The problem with going to the store is that 90% of what they have is NOT what I am interested in and what I want they don't have too much of. I was hoping that there might be a legit site where I could find the things that I want.

teodz1984....don't really need your comment "Perhaps it is time to start buying to build up your movie library....."
I have been here quite awhile and have bought MANY DVD's so I am aware of cost and what is here. Looking for helpful info...

Thanks again for the "helpful info" guys....I didn't really think any of those sites were legit which is why I never gave them any money.

For older movies (some are post 1955) you could try the internet archive : http://www.archive.org/details/feature_films

You can download the movies, and some are even available in MPEG format (for DVD) !

    I hope this helps.
