  1. The video im watching is 450p (not sure if this even matters) HDTV recorded and the video codec i believe is x264 or AVC. it plays perfect but when i put the video file in a folder with the matching .srt subs it goes from looking from this to this.

    Image Below:

can't stand watching this after awhile, makes me feel high.

Note: this only happens when vob sub loads up the .srt subs. All my other movies work with .srt subs, but not for this tv show that im trying to watch. My last and best guess is that it has to do with the .srt files and nothing else.

Also, i DL cccp for the complete codec install and haven't messed with any of the settings. i tried uninstalling it and re-installing it but same results.

If anyone can help me solve i will greatly appreciate it.

Are you using latest vsfilter? Don't use the very old vobsub.

Are you playing with wmp? Maybe try something with builtin subtitle decoders like VLC Media Player.

  3. I've always used wmp, and i got the lastest cccp codec packet. my vobsub is 2.40.3971, which was included in cccp.

  4. I think Non mod16 resolutions (dimensions not evenly divisible by 16) can give problems with vsfilter

  5. Yes, something doesn't like mod 2 (450) frame heights.

  6. so it may be the video resolution? i can see why it makes sense because its not divisible by 16. So how can i fix that, im still new with video encoding.

  7. If you just want to watch the file once use a player that can handle non mod16 frame sizes. Try VLC. If you want to resize and recompress use any of the x264 front ends like handbrake, xvid4psp, etc.
