  1. hi, im trying to encode with virtualdub.
my problem is that when im encoding 1 pass encode the subtitles are just as i set them in the textsub 2.3 filter.
when im encode 2-pass (xvid) the subtitles arent in the psition and the size ive set them in the filter :S
as i see it seems to be at the default size and position - iencode the 2-pass with *dont run this job now -> job control.

ive check now - when im running 2-pass encoding without job control its seems to be good.
    what can be the problem?

    That's VirtualDubMod, no?

I suggest you switch to virualdub if it is.

Set up job control for pass 1 and then pass 2.
    THEN start job control (F4).

FWIW, I am often adding SOFT subtitles to xvid avi files using AviAddXSubs.exe. It is the only solution I have found that would let me stream files with soft subtitles on a PS3, and this application is extremely fast and works beautifully.
It may bother you to have another step in your process, but it's so fast that I don't see it as an issue.
Naturally, you need the srt text format for your subtitles.

Right. First pass is an analysis. Second pass of the same video is the actual compression.
