Ok so i bought a hauppauge to capture my gaming experience on the xbox360. I capture it in 720p 60 fps. but when i look at those 60 fps, there are only 30 distinct frames. I found out about this when i tried to time warp with adobe after effects or use the twixtor plugin. If i set the frame rate to 59,94 in twixtor, it kinda looks laggy it stops for a while, then blends the frames then stops again the blending again. but if i set it to 29,97 then it is ok. However there are 60 frames in the footage per second. But every 2 frames are the same. Also recording in .m2ts was not good because i couldnt import it into After effects or Sony vegas, it seems it was 119 fps so i reinstalled an older driver and now .m2ts is 59,94 fps again. But still only 30 distinctive frames of those 60. Now It's not a huge problem because the videos i make go on youtube and theres a 30fps max there. but still i like to have smooth vids on my pc for myself. Does anyone recognize this problem or knows what to do?

    thanks in advance

  2. maybe the game is capped at 30fps and you're recording a 30fps signal ?

O my god I think youre right, from what I heared when the game ( gears of war 3 ) wasn't released yet is that they capped the fps to 30 to use more processing on the graphics itself...

really, thanks! I was really frustrated now I just know I have to interpret the footage as 30 fps and its okay . I didnt test this on call of duty but I guess ill get the 60 fps there.

    Such a simple thing haha

  4. The Hauppauge HD PVR can only record what it receives. If you got 720p60 with duplicate frames that's what the Xbox 360 was putting out.
