    My DVD player auto-plays AVIs. There is no disable option in the settings. Is it possible to add some kind of dummy file into the DVD disc that causes it to return to the file menu?

    I doubt that. AVI playback features is up to each dvd player/chipset.

    Try putting the AVI's in a sub folder.
