    up until a couple of weeks ago all was fine, now although the machine appears to be recording, when finished there's nothing there and it reports a "disc error", i have tried a cleaning disc and different brands of blank media, nothing. it continues to play regular dvd films and music cd's but has problems with some mp3 files on cd...

    My DVDR985 still works.....BARELY. I haven't used it in years though.
