  1. Hi guys,

I want to use TMPGenc to rip my DVDs to DivX?

I want to somehow set it so that the output size depends on the length of the movie so that the quality is consistent. (rather than making them all 700 meg)

Could somebody please fill me in on how to do this?

    Thanks in advance

Which tmpgenc version? Tmpgenc xpress, tmpgenc video mastering works, etc?

But I would guess it's under the video tab and change to 1 pass vbr(constant quality) and adjust the quality setting.

  3. Hi Baldrick,

    thanks for the quick reply

    Its TMPGenc 4.7 express.

    P.S.

I'd like to normalize the volume as well in case some movies are really quiet.

  4. Are there any programs out there that can normalize so that all movies will be roughly the same volume?

Also, I forgot about the subs (the subs that come up when people are speaking another language).... Is there a way to embed that into the video instead of having a sub file?)

No, tmpgenc xpress can't add subs. Use DVDFab or some other free dvd to divx converter like autogk, fairuse wizard or handbrake 0.9.3. They can embed subtitles.

I don't know any that can normalize audio.

Not that I ever used it but I think MediaCoder can (or at least you can set the gain - that I've used )

videobruger: How did you fix the attachment? It was just a link first. Something is wrong with the file attachments but I can't find the bug.

  9. Baldrick: Not sure. Tried editing it a couple of times. The picture showed in the edit frame. Then decided to try replacing the picture with a cut-out, ie smaller size but when I backspaced on the picture ... well I lost connection to the site (IE9) and when I came back the picture was there.

    Good luck with it
