I been trying to convert a DVD to VCD using SmartRipper, DVD2AVI and TMPEgnc. However the audio file produced by DVD2AVI is a .mpa file and it seems like TMPEngc has a lot of troubles using this for Audio. I guess the way to go is to convert the .mpa file to a .wav file, but how do I do that ??

Any help would be greatly appreciated

    TIA

  2. Easy way is to drag it into winamp and use its diskwriter output to get a wav......

  3. SMO,

How do you get mpa out of DVD2AVI?
I am only able to get audio out of vobs w/ DVD2AVI to wav or ac3. If you want wav from DVD2AVI, use Decode in the Audio menupoint and Save AVI or Save Project.

N.B.: the wav file from a movie is well over 1GB.

  4. beta,

in the audio options, if i remember correctly, there's dolby digital and also "mpeg audio"... i remember when i was doing svcd -> vcd with tmpgenc, because the svcd had mpg audio, i had to choose the "mpeg audio" and get a .mpa. i don't know if the newest ver of dvd2avi is like this anymore, this was back in the day...

    Thanks, kriskim.
