  1. Ok, I have been trying to convert several large MKV files to mp4 so that I can play them on my 360. I decided that gotsent was the best option, and I went ahead with it. For a while the conversion process would keep crashing at MP4box, but I found out that the file names might've been too long. I changed the names, and everything ran smoothly. However, when I go to the output folder, I see that the file is only 24kb and cannot be played. The files in question are Blu Ray quality, nearly 10GB in size. What am I doing wrong here? I downloaded the Matroska Splitter and the AC3Filter files required for the conversion.

Any help would be appreciated, THANKS.

EDIT: I'm getting the MP4Box crash again, even after changing the name of the file...

Try rebox.net and mkvtomp4 instead. Gotsent hasn't been updated for a while now.

Ok will do. Will the files retain audio/video quality after conversion with those programs? Thanks.

rebox.NET will retain your video (H264_AVC) and only convert the audio if needed, your Xbox360 needs 2 channel AAC in an MP4, so, audio will be converted if not already in this format.

If you have files that are 10Gb+, you also need to realise, the Xbox360 (on FAT32 USB memory sticks) is only going to see files below 4Gb (FAT32), so you will need to split the files at 4Gb.

With 10+Gb files, it may be worth re-encoding to 720p at less than 4Gb for the Xbox360.

Well, I'm afraid I did not think this through enough. I would like to retain the 1080P quality of the files. How can I go about splitting the files? I have already converted all of them to mp4 format using MkvToMp4.

Thanks for the heads up, would really appreciate some more help, I haven't a clue about some of this stuff.

I don't know anything about "MKVtoMP4", but rebox.NET has an option to split at 4Gb.

Ok, I tried out rebox, but it doesn't seem to embed subtitles like other programs. Is there any way to do so?

There's a reason for that, your XBOX360 wont display soft subs from an MP4 container!

Ok, I did not know that. So there is no way to have subtitles at all? I've looked around and found a way to permanently encode subtitles onto the video, but would the subtitles still work after I split the files?

    Thanks again.

  10. Ok, I recently converted several blu-ray quality videos from MKV to MP4 using rebox.net. I also had to split the files in order to get under the 4GB limit for FAT32. However, when I try to access these videos, the 360 states that the format is unrecognized. The files are 3.8 GB each.

If everything fails, gotsent, rebox.net, mkv2mp4, then just reconvert with handbrake, load the xbox profile, convert.
