I have a Cannon XHA 1 HDV video camera and an HV 20. Lately, when I am using playback mode on either one, I get brief intermittent image freeze-ups. It doesn't happen every time, which tells me it was recorded okay. Could this be a dirty head problem, and if so, what are good head cleaning devices I could use?

    Thanks, Tom

could be dirty heads especially if you have used more than 1 brand of tape. any miniDV cleaning tape is fine. personally i use a sony dvm-12cld tape when needed.

This is with the camera detached from computer? I haven't seen this.

Does it happen on all tapes?

What tape brand/model are you using?
