Went into PC World in Gateshead on Sunday for a colour print cartridge for my printer and noticed that they had reduced the Hauppauge WinTv PVR down to £149.99 for PCI and USB versions.

Good to the eye for reduced bargains! The Hauppauge WinTV PVR is a good TV card as long it has MPEG video capturing. I more inclined to purchase the PCI version and not the USB version.
I experienced the USB as not very good compared to the PCI on images. The resolution is very poor as a plug and play device into the computer. The USB also have a limit of what I can do due to the nature of the connection with the computer. No big demands on it, then trouble.
I have a PCI TV card as above as Hauppauge WinTV. However the version I got is uncompressed AVI capture. Too big for my computer to record anything. 1GB HD Space for an 8-minute video clip, wow. So much, so big, so I used another DVR, which has MPEG recording available. This one fixed the reduced amount of space required by one tenth.
