I have an old VHS tape I was transferring to CDR that I can't seem to get the sound off of. It is a tape of our wedding done about 10 years ago. For some reason I can't get the sound to capture using Movie Star. I have tried it twice now and and all I get is the video. No static hiss, nothing.
Anybody have any ideas what may be the problem? I have done dozens of transfers before without a problem. The sound plays fine on the VCR, so I know its there.

With the exact same hardware and software you have done transfers before with no problems?
Try another VHS tape and see if the problem still exists. If so, then I suspect a cable got disconnected or a input is muted, something like that. If another tape works fine, but your project tape does not, I'm stumped. As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war." -
Just did another tape with The Tick show series off TV. Worked fine. I have no idea what is wrong with the wedding tape. It plays fine on the TV off the VCR (but you can tell its an old tape), but when I try it to capture it, I get no sound. No sound whatsoever, not even that annoying humm you get off VHS tapes sometimes.
