  1. Hi,

I usually find everything i need to know by reading...so here i am as this one has me stumped !!..i have captured footage from loads of mini DV tapes i have used over the years, i done this using ulead video studio 11, its done the job all fine and from within that program i can see when a file was created, however, its named each file by its own convention so i went to use irfan view to name each file by the date it was created and thats when i discovered that the meta data is not shown outside of this program, when i properties from within windows the date created is the date the file was captured from the DV tape to the pc, i have opened the files up in many video editing programs and the recording time is definateley there, it seems to be hidden within the metadata, i dont want this timestamp embedded on the footage itself but just want the files renamed enmass by the date the footage was taken, irfanview would do this if that information was available to it..i need to somehow embed this information in the open where it can be easily read...any ideas ??
