What's the best way to keep video quality and sound in sync to convert from MPG to MP4 or AVI or WMV so I can play the videos from my USB stick on my Xbox 360?

BEST is probably megui with some special x264 profile in a mp4. Easiest it handbrake or freemake video converter.
