  1. Using AVID Media Composer or Final Cut Pro, is there any tips that can improve old tapes. Family footage and so forth that was shot on VHS Tape but burnt to DVD with a DVD Recorder. Then I took the DVD and used DVD Fab to give me the VOB file. Now I am taking the VOB File and resizing the picture from its original to 1080 by 720. Once I get the upscaled file I need to try and improve the video and maybe the audio. What are the best ways in AVID or Final Cut Pro to restore the image. If I can clear it up to look close to blu-ray that would be great.

    Not necessary. The DVD is not copy protected.
