Try adding a space or two between "ji" and "ge." You might also want to experiment with different (proportional) fonts.
You could also use a monospace font, but that's probably more of a last resort, in this case.If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them? -
Hm, if I put a space it appears as a regular space (it doesn't just fix the overlap; it creates a gap), and putting it to a monospaced font doesn't do anything.
If it helps, here's the sub file: http://www.mediafire.com/?vcq5q18czevq6la -
Does it exhibit the same behavior if you add the space and italicize the line?
What version of vsfilter/directvobsub are you using? There's been an update or two lately (not that I'm sure it would make a difference). Also, while I'm not confident about VLC's ability to render every possible ASS effect, you might grab a portable version of the latest version and see how it renders the line.
I'm not at the system I use to work with subtitles, right now, so I'll have to wait to take a look at the file.If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them?
