I have a i5 mobile processor with no discrete graphics card, just the Intel HD graphics within the chip. Use MPC-HC for mkv and avi files at 1080p resolutions and some 720p. My question is, for better image quality, should i checkmark DXVA or leave it to the processor?
any reasons why the integrated gpu in this chip would work better than the cpu?
Thanx for the help![]()

Not all h.264 features are supported by DXVA. You'll find many files don't decode properly with DXVA. So I always use software decoders.

Yes i've notice some issues when playing some tracks (h.264 ) and well, that is good to know, but also yeah as you say epsilonalpha my eyes are the very fire test for this situations. Thank you both.

Get yourself a copy of Total Media Theatre 5 from Arcoft. Arcoft codecs seems to be the best for DXVA according to me tests (tested with coreavc, cyberlink)

Thank you themaster1 for your sugestion. I have TMT5 installed and used to play mkv files flawlessly and i realy noticed the quality vs other players but i have problems with mkv files that contain srt files. When i disable them, they still seem to appear for a fraction of a second. And that was realy anoying for me. Have you experienced this problem?
