    I went on and got tmpgenc plus. Im converting avi to mpeg1 vcd.
    Can anyone tell me the correct settings I need to enter for it to be
    the gtreatest quality vcd.
    Also when I close the wizard and open settings, everything is locked.
    I cannot change anything

    Click load, go to extra, select the unlock file and go back to settings. You now should be able to change the settings anyway you want them. As to what is the ultimate setting..... that's up to you (depending on wheter you want to watch your movies on your computer or on your tv (stand-alone dvd-player). My advice is to just experiment and try all the different formats. I'm currently very sattisfied wih SVCD.
