Box says it supports DivX and MPEG4. I loaded a disc with DivX/MP3 (AVI) and it played fine. But the H264/AAC (MP4) did not even show up on the menu. Any ideas?

Most dvd players just supports avi with divx(divx and xvid is mpeg4 asp). Very few supports mp4 with h264(h264 is mpeg4 avc/h264).

On some players MPEG4 is just a code word for Divx/Xvid and nothing more. It may also mean that if you put a Divx/MP3 file in an MP4 container it will work so that's why they can claim that they support "MPEG4". MPEG4 support does not necessarily mean that it supports MP4 as the majority of users think of it (H.264 video + AAC audio).
