    It's NOT the first time in the past 10-15 years that an Avisynth site went tits up, and VH (doom9, digitalFAQ, others) were the only options left. The wiki just hotlinks, from what I've seen.
    I question its validity, but not its inconvenience, especially when we're talking about AviSynth, which is community driven - mostly hobbyists, who are not liable to responsibilities like with some contract or whatnot.

    Hobbyists come and go at will, which can make searching for some AviSynth filters similar to plowing through D... , oh never mind.
    I hate VHS. I always did.

    Digital decay is indeed a real problem. That's why (I don't know if you noticed or not) every link in the RemoveDirt wiki page also has a mirror link (provided by archive.org). Just about every page I've created in the external filters page has an "Archived downloads" section where I put additional links just in case a link goes offline (some plugins have up to 4 mirror links). This is one the main reasons I started to work on the wiki in the first place.
