This section is for ffmpegX and not just ffmpeg. Moving you to our video conversion section.

AND I changed your thread title so it describes your problem instead of just i have a problem...

your binary was built in Jan 2009

mbtree wasn't added to x264 until later

use a newer ffmpeg binary or compile it with more recent libx264 , or use different encoding settings

Are you asking where ffmpeg's .ffpreset files are located?

    Sometimes they are in /usr/share/ffmpeg/

Or they might be missing from your computer. If this is the case, you will need to download them separately. Download ffpresets.zip from this site:
    http://www.sucka.net/2011/10/missing-ffmpeg-ffpreset-files-solved/

Unzip the file, and copy all the .ffpreset files to a directory called '.ffmpeg' in your home area. You might need to create this directory if it doesn't already exist.

I don't understand the question about libfaac.

You need to find a way to output the error message. You could modify the code that generates the web interface to output any errors from ffmpeg, or you could connect to the Linux server directly with ssh and run that command manually.

My only suggestion right now is to remove the -vpre ipod320 option and see if it then works. Also the -threads 64 is excessive. Find out how many cores the server has and use that value (2, 4 or 6 for example).

    this message send for admin

I did double check and the permissions are still set to 777. Here is the path along with the permissions on the files:

I checked the logs to see if I could find any more information, and I do believe
I saw where you attempted to convert the file. The last line of the conversion ended with this:
File for preset '/usr/local/share/ffmpeg/libx264-ipod320.ffpreset' not found

However, the odd thing is I checked, and that file is still present in /usr/local/share/ffmpeg and is still set to 777:

    ffmpeg >> ls libx264-ipod320.ffpreset -l -rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 83 Dec 7 05:51 libx264-ipod320.ffpreset
