  1. Hello - some of my cheaper DVD players around the house don't play AVI files. Is there a definitive file I can convert to that even the cheap-o players will understand? If so - what is the best freeware to use? Thanks! D

    If the players did not come with the ability to play them then they will never be able to play them.

  3. I understand the player won't play them. I am asking about CONVERTING a AVI to a format that all players recognize.

    The only way is to convert it to a DVD. DVDFlick is just one example of quite a few free programs that will do it.
