I know that there is a sticky topic wich says to convert dvd to dv using xvid4psp, but I need some additional information.
So i take the mini dvd from Canon camcorder dvd, convert it to dv avi. I want to import this dv avi in Premiere Pro CS3, and edit it.
But after I finish editing it in Premiere, I don't know in wich format I should export the edited video in order to encode it with staxrip to xvid avi.
I mean, xvid avi will be progressive, but the source (canon camera dvd or dv avi) is interlaced.
After I finish editing, should I export to dv avi from premiere, and then apply a deinterlacing filter in staxrip ? Should I use another "intermediary" format that is progressive and lossless, and let premiere apply deinterlacing ? Or should I convert the dvd to this intermediary format before importing into premiere ? I really don't know what would be the best solution in this situation... but I don't want to use frame serving with debugmode because it freezes my hard drive and renders my pc almost unusable.
