    Hello Guys...
    I have a few MKV files laying with embedded subtitles in, so i can turn subtitles off and on while watching it... My problems is that i dosnt work while watching them on my Samsung Plasma TV....
    I have this tv

    Isnt it possible to see the subtitles in the mvk files ? I would like if i dont have to hardcode them to see them

    The MKV files contains video audio and subtitle in one MKV file

    Try extract the subs with mkvextractgui2, convert them to srt( https://www.videohelp.com/tools/sections/subtitle ) and last name them same as the video like video.mkv and video.srt and see how it works.

    You can also extract the subtitle with SubtitleEdit : File -> Import subtitle from Matroska file...

    Subtitles in mkv files can be either text based or image based (dvd VobSub or blu-ray sup).

    What does your TV's manual state in regard to subtitle support? (if it supports subtitles at all, which formats, must the subtitles be stored outside the video container, or can they be a stream within the video container, etc.)

    I wouldn't be surprised if the subtitles are .ass format, though, and there probably aren't that many devices that support ASS-format subs, much less support them properly.
    If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them?
