    Hi Everyone,

I use the Matroska plugin for the VirtualDub64. When I open the MKV file, the screen is dark and the error message "MISSING CODEC." I pressed play button I can hear the sound. I suppose the audio is OK. What codec am I missing ?

    Thanks in advance.

What is the video codec in the mkv? Identify with Mediainfo. If h264/avc then try install the x264vfw.

Thanks. The master himself has replied. What an honour !
It AVC format. I install the x264vfw codec. Works like a charm.

  4. Since you are using 64 bit Windows you should keep this in mind: 64 bit programs require 64 bit codecs and filters. They cannot use 32 bit codecs and filters. There's very little speed advantage to using 64 bit VirtualDub so you might be better off running the 32 bit version to be able to access more filters (many are only available in 32 bit versions).

geeee... I thought 64 is better then 32.
64 is faster then 32. Even have 8 gig of RAM and Core i7 2600.
OK I will put in the VirtualDub32. I hope is a parallel universe.

  6. The main advantage to running 64 bits is the ability to address more memory. But few programs require more than they can get under 32 bit Windows. Install both 32 bit and 64 bit VirtualDub and run some comparisons yourself.
