  1. Hi,

i have an avi but it wont play, only the sound can be heard. I figured out im missing a codec so i used mediainfo in order to learn which one and i got this:

    Video
    ID : 0
    Format : MPEG-4 Visual
    Codec ID : MPG4
    Codec ID/Info : Microsoft MPEG-4 v1
    Codec ID/Hint : MS MPEG-4 v1
so i downloaded the MS MPEG-4 v1 codec and installed but still there is no image when i play it, only sound. I have Windows 7 and i thought i had all codecs up to date but seems like i missing something. Any hint please?

    Thank you.

Microsoft MPEG-4 may mean what we normally call VC-1. If so, then yes, I would fully expect Divx Player to have all kinds of problems with that.

VLC is free and beats the crap out of WMP for playback. You might get a copy and try it.

  4. Yes, i already have VLC player, thank you. I just wanted to make sure it was normal for divx player not to play properly a movie with that codec.
