When I try to rename, delete, or interact with certain MKV files I have (over 5GB or so). This happens with a couple of them, so I doubt it's a case of corruption. If I try and delete it, it says "file in use by Windows Explorer".
I did have CCCP installed, but have since uninstalled that as I thought it was something to do with those. My folders aren't on thumbnail, so I don't think it's anything to do with Windows trying to generate one.
Any reason why this would be the case, and anything I can do to solve it? I'm on Windows 7 Ultimate.
Thanks.

Windows Explorer seems to do that a lot.
I have that happen all the time. If you just access the file, WE seems to hang on to it for a while. I suspect with large MKV files, it doesn't understand them and that tends to hang it up. If you really want to delete or rename them, try Unlocker: http://www.emptyloop.com/unlocker/ There is a 64bit version of it also.

I've managed to delete them using an FTP program, but still I wonder why. Having said that, though, I DO have some 8GB mkv files that work fine, so it may just be a case of corrupt files.
Still, if it's not, it'd be good to know. -
It's a corrupt file or reader/splitter/codec incompatibilities. Explorer is trying to parse the file for properties and getting hung up, or taking a very long time. You can always delete the file from a CLI. You can eliminate the problem by disabling the media file info feature in Windows but then you won't get that information for any media files.
