  1. When I first set up media center I had all of my local hd channels the cable company changed their lineup. I rescanned and all of my hd channels disappeared. I installed sagetv it showed all of them but I could no longer buy it when my trial ran out. I've searched everywhere I need help the tuner card is HVR-2250 and I have Time Warner.

That is my experience. Never saw Win7 media center find Qam Hd channels. Is this something new?

If you live in the US, the only HD channels available as clear QAM will be your locals, plus maybe the Weather Channel HD, HD versions of the shopping channels and a few others that you likely don't care about. The rest of the HD channels will be encrypted. Also Time Warner uses switched digital video in many places, and I have seen some subscribers say that even some unencrypted channels may move around a lot.

This may or may not help you add some channels back manually. http://www.hdtvtunerinfo.com/win7mcqamsetup.html

Sage was bought by Google this past summer and while they are continuing to support existing users, they are no longer accepting new customers.

There is other PVR software that allows clear QAM tuning. You could try Beyond TV, NextPVR (free) and Media Portal (free) to see if they can do better.
