Yes TSmuxer should be able to convert it in minutes.

AVCHD disc has a strict bit rate definition of 17 Mb/s. Many players can go higher but poop out around 24 Mbps.

Blu-Ray players are only requred to play DVD and BD at 1x speed. AVCHD disc is an extra feature.

Yes. There is a check box at the bottom where you can select BluRay output. It's very easy.

You don't say what kind of disc (DVD, BD) you burned to so do be aware that some BluRay players are fussier than others. Some may not support BD format on DVD discs.

Just use the add button in Tsmuxer and navigate to the m2ts file. If preserving correct chapter stops is important to you then navigate to the Playlist folder and open the mpls file.

it was a DVD+R DL and this method didn't work, it's still saying format not supported when he insert this disc in the player, i also notice that after i ran the .m2ts file with Tsmuxer in the file properties still says AVCHD Video??

    any other suggestions??

    Thanks.

Does your player spec say it is AVCHD disc compatible?

AVCHD @ 17 Mb/s is the spec for "AVCHD disc". Many players will go higher (spin disc faster than 2x).

I looked up the Samsung BD-5100 and it does not mention AVCHD playback. If it doesn't support AVCHD it's unlikely to support BR playback from DVD disks of any kind. You probably need to put it on a BR blank for your friends player.

that's what i was afraid of, i don't own any BR blank and i don't know how much they go for, i just don't see it worth it for one video.

    Thanks all for your help..

BD media requires a BD burner. Add $80 bux one time cost.
