I have been trying to render 2 avchd streams to a mp4 with just one mono audio track and have about a 80% success rate for small clips just 20 sec or so long. If I render to .mxf it fails faster and 100% of the time. Both AVCHD Streams are 17mbps, presented like picture-in-picture. It seems to fail less if I use 1920x1080 60i in project settings and render to 1280x720 30p 5Mbps sony mp4 and perhaps slightly less if I render to an even lower rez file. The orig. footage is full hd and interlaced normally... but I want to put it online and have it take less space without looking too bad. Any work around besides taking out all markers each time I want to render a new clip?

  2. Seems odd. To clarify, if your project didn't have markers => no crashes occur ?

Crashes don't occur if markers are not in the loop area that I am rendering. I should also note that I am using "r" to mark regions (the areas I want to render of 2 tracks at once (multiple people are talking, so I am going back and taking just one mic, that speaker's close-up, and the wide shot of what everyone is talking about). Also - even if it doesn't crash sometimes I get kind a pulse in the pixels or a purplish hue in teh rendered video where the marker is in the project. It's so weird! Had to post.

Also, I just rendered some longer clips by un-checking the box to save the marker metadata in the rendered file. So that is an EASY fix for others who may experience this problem in the future but, like me, don't need marker metadata in these intermediate files... Is anyone aware of a good way to provide extra info like this to Sony to help in later releases? I seem to find all the quirks before they do

try switching off cuda encoding(gpu) and use the cpu. see if it works with markers. it's the nvidia encoding that's crashing.
